It is the job of a media outlet to engage a population. In our own industries it can be hard to take ourselves out of the industry bubble and look into how we make the right connection with the right people.
In so many case we tend to broadcast our message in a way that suits our industry internally. However the consumer is often left on the outer wondering what the relevance of the message is to them. They also see content sporadically, for example when the latest SOLD sticker is finally on the board (whenever that happens to be).
Media outlets exist by ensuring that they start with the end in mind. They discover what their consumer wants to hear/see/feel FIRST before constructing the message. It would pay for all businesses to think more in this way, we would get a greater understanding for our customers too!
