Welcome To The Craft!

We designed a series of videos that share our love for the craft of auctioneering. Our mission statement is to improve clearance rates and enhance brands through auctions, so we need to help others to improve their skills.

This first episode we set some basic rules and standards that can instantly improve your mentality when going in to auctions.

Part 1: The Craft- Ground Rules

Before getting into the intricacies of the craft, it is important to understand the following ground rules:

  1. No-one is perfect! We always have to look for ways to improve. Otherwise our style will go stale and become unauthentic.
  2. Stay hungry! Just like going to a gym, you will only get stronger by doing more repetitions.
  3. No room for egos! Being humble allows you to critique your own performance, and stops your suit from getting in the way of the transaction.

Part 2: Quick Wins

Instantly improve your game before you get stuck into the various components of the craft.

  1. Smarten UP! No excuses here, if you are going to be the billboard for your brand then you need to take care of your appearance. Suit pressed, shoes shined, make sure you do a full audit of your attire.
  2. Learn your legislation. You are the expert here, so you need put time in to making sure that you know the rules & regulations. They need to come naturally to you!
  3. Pick your placement. Check your surroundings prior to getting started. Make sure that you can see everyone as well as being able to be heard by everyone.
  4. Record yourself. Make sure that you pay attention to both the audio and the video. Take them in separately and you will soon pick up on different things that you can improve on.
